Please answer-by-number:

1. Did the behavior persists subsequently you ran the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool [REMOVE only] followed by a reboot [i.e., before you took any further steps]?

2. How practise these "corrupt files" bear on the functionality of your figurer?

3. Are you in the habit of using "registry cleaners" (e.g., CCleaner'south Registry Cleaner component; Registry Mechanic; System Mechanic; RegCure; RegClean Pro; Avant-garde SystemCare; Full Organisation Care; Advanced Arrangement Optimizer; Comodo System Cleaner; Glary Utilities; Registry Booster; McAfee QuickClean; AVG Quick Clean; AVG PC TuneUp; Norton Registry Cleaner; Norton PC Tuneup; PCTools Optimiser; SpeedUpMyPC; FixMyPC; PC Doctor; TuneUp Utilities; WinMaximizer; WinSweeper; Wise Intendance 365; Wise Cleaner; Bitdefender OneClick Optimizer; etc.)?

4. Yous've washed at to the lowest degree one (1) Reset and several Repair Installs [AKA In-place upgrades] since Fall Creators Update was released on the 17th. Have you considered formatting the HDD and then doing a (literal) clean install of Win10 1709?

1. Yes. The behavior persisted after the Norton Removal Tool was used, simply before I took further action.

two. I have not yet noticed any change in functionality since I installed the Creators Fall Update, but I have not been using my computer other than to run the diagnostics and attempt the corrective activeness indicated higher up.  My business is that, given the corrupted files, I could crusade damage to my figurer through farther use.

iii. I have not used registry cleanup tools in years, as the ones I did use proved to be more than trouble than they were worth.  If you could recommend such a tool that would solve this problem, I would capeesh it.

4. I would rather non format the hard bulldoze except as a concluding resort.

Although I did not find any problems after the update, it is my general practice, after a major system update, to run an integrity scan to make certain the update downloaded properly. I had experienced computer problems in the by that were caused by corrupted Windows system files (as indicated by an SFC browse), and had required a reset. When I found corrupted files, I was concerned that these or other problems would go evident should I continue normal utilise of my computer. My concern increased when none of the methods indicated -- including an SFC scan in Safe Manner, a DISM scan, mounting a WIM file from an ISO newly downloaded from Microsoft for utilize with a DISM browse, a PC reset, a repair upgrade, a chkdsk scan (both read-only and with /f enabled) and repeated SFC scans, in and out of Prophylactic Mode -- resolved the issue.

6. What, if any, third-party anti-virus applications have been installed on the computer since you bought it?

7. What, if any, third-political party anti-virus application is currently installed?

i. Yeah.

2. Prior to yesterday, the last fourth dimension I had done a PC reset was in late March or early on April, 2016.

3. Yeah.

4. My figurer was freezing during ordinary use, and apply of the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool revealed hardware damage to the physical memory. I took the estimator in and information technology was revealed that there was a virus in the system that had caused the diagnostic to give a false positive for memory hardware damage.  The RAM and difficult disks were found to be clean.

five. The repair shop removed the virus, removed Norton Security (which failed to find the virus), and installed Managed Antivirus, a system monitored remotely by them.

vi. Norton and Managed Antivirus since I bought the machine and since I upgraded to Windows x.

7. The antivirus software was removed during the PC reset. I will need to become information technology reinstalled this week.

Since all was well after you did the previous Reset and since the computer became infected at some point since so (according to your reply above) and since the repair shop supposedly fixed everything - nonetheless you still had to practise another Reset due to corruption, there's a very skillful chance that the computer's infected again - or still infected.

Formatting the HDD (<= IMPORTANT!) then doing a (literal) clean install of Windows 10 Version 1709 should resolve the trouble.

HOW TO DO A Clean Install Win10

COMMENTS:

=> Chances are your Norton application was never installed or working properly to begin with.

=> This is the start I've heard of "Managed Antivirus." Information technology appears to be a Bitdefender-related awarding,

=> Just 1 (one) anti-virus awarding/security suite should be install & loading at boot. After doing the clean install of Win10 1709, Windows Defender (and Windows Firewall) should be all yous demand to protect the arrangement [IMHO].

Good luck!
